James Stephenson
Founder and CEO
James has been an Automotive Technician for nearly 30 years, earning his Master Technician certification almost two decades ago. In 2005, he founded Precision Auto Repair in West Springfield, MA, and has grown it into one of Google’s top-rated independent auto repair shops. Under his leadership, Precision Auto has been named “Best Auto Repair Shop in West Springfield” for 10 years and counting, recognized for its commitment to quality, honesty, and exceptional customer service.
When he’s not at the shop, James enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through fitness and outdoor activities. His dedication to excellence—both personally and professionally—continues to drive the success of Precision Auto Repair and inspire his team.
Ricardo
Aka "Little Papi"
Chief Training Officer
Ricardo is a proud husband and father of six and a first-generation American citizen from the Dominican Republic. With more than 25 years in the automotive industry, he has spent 18 years as a Master Automotive Technician and over seven years dedicated to developing and mentoring apprentice technicians.
Ricardo built and leads our technician development program from the ground up, creating structured training systems that turn entry-level talent into confident, capable professionals. His passion is not just fixing vehicles, but building people, preserving technical excellence, and ensuring the next generation of technicians is set up for long-term success.
Nick
Service Manager
Nick brings more than a decade of experience in the automotive industry to Precision Auto Repair and currently serves as Service Manager, where he plays a critical role in operations, sales performance, and customer experience. With over six years of multi-location management experience and five-plus years as an Automotive Service Advisor Sales Trainer, Nick is highly skilled in systems, KPIs, process development, and team accountability. His focus is on driving consistent results through structure, clear communication, and continuous improvement, ensuring the front office operates at a high level to support both technicians and customers.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and their two Yorkshire Terriers, Bear and Otis, and unwinding by watching crime shows.
Steve
Master Technician
Steve brings more than 30 years of experience to Precision Auto Repair as a Master Automotive Technician, with a reputation for hard work, consistency, and technical excellence. He plays a key role in supporting our technician development program, working closely with Ricardo to train and mentor technicians with a strong focus on process, diagnostic accuracy, and critical thinking. Steve’s deep hands-on knowledge and methodical approach help ensure our training systems produce technicians who are efficient, confident, and capable of handling complex repairs at a high level.
Outside of the shop, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, tackling house projects, and riding his motorcycle.
Alex
Automotive Technician
Alex brings just under a decade of experience to Precision Auto Repair as an Automotive Technician and has built a reputation as a dependable, well-rounded team member who consistently delivers quality work. Having grown up locally, Alex pursued a career in the automotive field and has continued to develop his skills across all areas of the shop. He takes pride in his workmanship, adaptability, and positive attitude, making him someone both customers and teammates can rely on.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys taking day trips and spending time with his family, friends, and his Australian Shepherd, Ollie.
